Five Years of the Edinburgh Legal History Blog

It was five years ago today that the first entry was made in this Blog, although it was not until 13 January that there was any attempt to set out some kind of manifesto! The first concerned a new online journal dealing with legal history produced in Louisiana. While the Blog has often – and properly – had entries that provide information about conferences, competitions, jobs, and new journals, it has tried to develop its own perspective and has focused on matters of interest to the contributors, rather than simply re-blogging material found elsewhere. There has an attempt to be personal. It has thus demonstrated an obvious interest in Louisiana, Scotland, slavery, Roman law, and the like. We look forward to providing interesting material for the next five years!
