Scottish Legal History Group: 31st Meeting: additional note

This blog is delighted to note that the 31st meeting of the Scottish Legal History Group will take place on 1 October, 2011 in the Reading Room of the Advocates’ Library, Parliament House, Edinburgh. As usual there is an interesting programme. Anyone interested in attending, upon payment of the conference fee of £10, should contact the Secretary to the Secretary, Dr Mark Godfrey, School of Law, University of Glasgow, Glasgow G12 8QQ. Many now senior scholars gave their first academic papers in this friendly group which has done so much to develop Scottish legal history in recent years. Your blogger, when Secretary and Treasurer, deposited the papers of the Scottish Legal History Group with the National Library of Scotland a few years ago now. A fascinating read, they will allow someone some day, perhaps for the 40th meeting, to present a history of the Group itself, rather like the super work recently done by Tom Drysdale on the history of the Stair Society. A legal philosopher friend once noted that this was the friendliest conference she had ever attended.
